Mobilaris and Björkdalsgruvan in collaboration to strengthen safety and operational awareness

Real-time situational awareness is becoming a critical part of modern mining operations. Through a new partnership with Björkdalsgruvan, Mobilaris Industrial Solutions will deliver the Mobilaris Site solution to enhance safety and coordination of the daily operations.

Björkdalsgruvan is one of Sweden’s most established gold mining operations, located in Kåge, a mining district in outside Skellefteå, northern Sweden. Owned by Alkane Resources, the mine combines underground mining with ongoing exploration and long-term development ambitions, supported by continuous investments in safety, operational efficiency and sustainable production.

With continued development ambitions, Björkdalsgruvan is taking the next step in its digitalization journey together with Mobilaris. Through the collaboration, the modern and scalable Mobilaris Site™ solution will be deployed for real-time situational awareness across the mining site.

Mobilaris Site™ is a technology-agnostic solution designed for industrial environments, covering areas above and underground, as well as indoors.  By combining different positioning technologies and live operational data from various sources, the solution supports smarter decision making and improves visibility of workgroups, vehicles, equipment and ongoing activities throughout the site – in one unified, intuitive 3D visual view.

“We are very excited to begin this collaboration with Björkdalsgruvan. Björkdalsgruvan is a well-established mine with a clear ambition to keep developing. We are proud to support the team in taking the next step in their digitalization journey,” says Sandra Ström, Acting CEO at Mobilaris

”Our role is to deliver a solution that is easy to get started with, creates value quickly and can scale as the  needs grow. Mining digitalization succeeds when technology is closely connected to the realities of the operations. That’s why we look forward to spending time on-site, working closely with the Björkdalsgruvan team and ensuring that our solution supports both safety and daily decision-making,” says Hans Wahlquist, Chief Business Development Officer, Mobilaris.

“As an active and evolving mining operation, access to reliable real-time information is becoming increasingly important. We look forward to working closely together with Mobilaris to strengthen safety and improve real-time operational awareness of the daily operations,” says Björkdalsgruvan’s Mine Manager Hilmi Pehriz.

Mobilaris Industrial Solutions develops positioning-based software solutions that improve safety, productivity and operational awareness in complex industrial environments. The company combines extensive experience and expertise to build solutions designed for real industry needs – delivering the essential functionality required without unnecessary complexity.
